LANCE CRAWFORD / STRONG EAGLE

            Lance Crawford, whom is known as Strong Eagle, has followed the Red Road Medicine Path for 28 years.  Lance is a Breed (mixed blood), and has had the opportunity to live in both worlds.  He has a B.A. and has accumulated 3 years of graduate study in Native American History, Law, and Religion issues.  Lance has 28 years experience, traditional and contemporary education, and intensive training from numerous elders in Ceremony, Earth Law, Linguistics, Native American Legal and Religious issues, Psychology, Social Law, History, Recovery Systems, Teaching, Survival Skills, and Medicine.  In traditional ways, Lance has been a Sun dancer with the Southern Ute Nation for 18 years having completed a 12 year vow the summer of 2002.  Strong Eagle inclusively shares his diverse experience and the seeds given him by Traditional Elders over the past 27 years.  The Traditional Elders teach through example and stories: the two most powerful forms of teaching.  Strong Eagle does not propose to teach people to be “Indian”, nor does he feel that Truth can be defined by any one person or people.  This teacher’s goal is informed awareness.  Strong Eagle has dedicated his life to the search for Truth and has facilitated Ceremony and Healing for 25 years.  He and his true Elders assert a major aspect of self-awareness is the inseparable relationship to each other and the Living System of our Earth.  Strong Eagle is committed to rededicate the Land and reintroduce people to the Spirit of our Sacred Earth.

The last 10 years, Strong Eagle has traveled more than 980,000 miles in five countries.  His reputation has spread entirely by word of mouth.  Lance has been invited to share in many ways with many groups.  Lance shares through lectures, academic presentations, seminars, and experiential gatherings.  The groups have been both public and private, youth and adult, men's and women's, psychological and religious.  The work he enjoys the most is working with youth and adults through Ceremony and Rites of Passage.  Among other honors, Lance was invited to give the main address for the First Hearings of the Committee for World Peace Organization in Copenhagen Denmark, and to speak to scientist of Neils Bohr Institute – one of the world’s most renowned science institutes.  He has been asked to return and share with those scientists four times since then.

Strong Eagle has been well received and asked to visit often wherever his travels have guided him to share his growing knowledge and experience.  Because of this experience, a Board who supports Lance has manifested the education non-profit organization called Walk Our Talk as a vehicle to do more by including all those who desire to seek Truth and ways to use Truth for Healing and Balance.  Walk Our Talk is an invitation to self-learning through self-discovery, self-awareness, and action.  As Strong Eagle says, “To walk your talk means to live the truth you know and define in your heart in all that you do…The question is, what are those truths…and before you can determine your truth,.. You must know who you are…The choices are yours in every given moment… and then, if you are sincere in accepting self-responsibility in your journey of awareness, you may discover what is true for all of us…This is the Nature of Ceremony.”
